Litter Collection Initiative Scheduled Later This Month In Caldwell County

A day has been designated by officials in Caldwell County for citizens to clean up. “Clean Caldwell Day” has been scheduled for Saturday, April 23. County officials are asking residents to gather a group of friends, family, or neighbors to pick up litter on that date.

The instructions are listed at the Caldwell County Government website. Citizens are asked to select a road or a section of a road to clean. Register online or on the day of the event. You can pick up supplies at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in front of the Forlines Building on April 23 beginning at 8 a.m.

After you get your supplies, pick up litter and count the number of bags collected. When you are finished, return your vests to CCC&TI and report the number of bags you filled. Tie the bags and leave them beside of the road. The North Carolina Department of Transportation will pick up those bags.

If you are a teacher or other group leader working with children under the age of 18, there is also a permission slip included for your convenience. The rain date for the event is Saturday, April 30. And county officials remind citizens to check in with them this summer for information on the Fall Clean Caldwell Day.
