Lincolnton Woman Indicted for Distribution of Fentanyl Resulting in Death

24-year-old Madison Dare Winslow of Lincolnton has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Charlotte for allegedly selling fentanyl that led to an overdose death. She was charged with one count each of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death and one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The announcement was made today (April 17) by Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

According to allegations in the indictment, on February 14, 2022, in Catawba County, Winslow did knowingly and intentionally distribute fentanyl that caused a victim’s overdose death. The victim’s identity has not been released. The indictment also alleges that Winslow distributed fentanyl on April 4, 2022, after the victim’s fatal overdose.

Winslow is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (April 18). A May 15 appearance in Superior Court is also listed.

U.S. Attorney King expressed her appreciation to the Maiden Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations for their work during the investigation.
