Lincoln County Woman Faces Felony Assault Charge Following Domestic Dispute

43-year-old Nichole Loraine Chandler has been arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers on one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She was arrested in connection to a shooting incident early this morning (November 22) that left an Iron Station man hospitalized in critical condition.

Events leading to the arrest began when Nichole Loraine Chandler called the Lincoln County Communications Center and said she shot her husband. Deputies were dispatched to the residence shortly before 1 a.m. today.

Officers found the victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, on the floor in a walk-in closet. He was treated and stabilized on the scene by Lincoln County E.M.S., then airlifted to Atrium Health–Main in Charlotte. He underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Chandler was interviewed at the Sheriff’s Office and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center where she is being held without bond. A first appearance in District Court was set for tomorrow.

The investigation is ongoing.
