Lincoln County Sworn in as Special Deputy with US Marshal Service
A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective was sworn in as a Special Deputy with the U.S. Marshal Service last Wednesday (September 13).
Terry Burgin, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of North Carolina, swore in Detective Frank Runyon as a Special Deputy assigned to the Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force. According to U.S. Marshal Burgin, Detective Runyon is the first Special Deputy from Lincoln County. He has been with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office since 2007.
Detective Runyon will continue in his role as a full-time Detective with the Sheriff’s Office while serving on the task force. As the result of Detective Runyon’s assignment, Lincoln County Sheriff Bill Beam will have continuous communications and information-sharing capabilities with the Investigative Operations Division of U.S. Marshal Service.
