Lincoln County Man Dies in Saturday Morning Mobile Home Fire

A Lincoln County man has died in a mobile home fire. The deceased is 76-year-old Carl Livingston Knight.

At about 2 a.m. Saturday morning (November 13), Lincoln County Emergency Services personnel were dispatched to the fire on Oakbrook Lane in Denver. They arrived to find the residence fully engulfed in flames.

Personnel were unable to make entry into the structure, where Mr. Knight was the only resident. The man’s daughter, who lives next door and reported the fire, told Officers she didn’t think he made it out of the mobile home. When the fire was extinguished, Mr. Knight’s body was found just inside the front door.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
