Lenoir Woman Charged With Drug Offenses Following Morganton Traffic Stop
41-year-old Stacey Lynn Erickson of Forest Hill Park Place in Lenoir was arrested Thursday (March 30) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver schedule II controlled substance and possession of controlled substance in prison or jail along with a misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Erickson is also charged with driving while license revoked.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. Thursday, a Ford Expedition was seen leaving the back parking lot of Sossoman Funeral Home on South Sterling Street in Morganton. Due to the fact there has been an increase in property crimes in recent weeks, an officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, the officer learned that the driver of the vehicle’s license had been suspended. A consent search of the vehicle reportedly resulted in the seizure of 3.5 grams of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, scales, plastic bags, and marijuana. Erickson was placed under arrest and transported to the Burke County Jail where an additional 15.5 grams of meth was reportedly found in her possession.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Erickson has multiple convictions dating back to 1999. She’s been convicted of various charges including breaking & entering, credit card theft, assault on an officer, and obstructing justice. She’s been convicted in Burke, McDowell, Caldwell, Catawba, and Buncombe Counties. Following Thursday’s arrest, Erickson was placed in the Burke County Jail under $20,000 secured bond. District Court dates were scheduled today (March 31) and July 21.
