Lenoir-Rhyne’s Salo Named Elite 90 Award Winner

Zack Salo of the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Team received one of the highest academic honors from the NCAA on Friday by winning the Elite 90 Award.

The award is given by the NCAA to the student athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average who has reached the competition at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 90 men’s and women’s championships across its three divisions (Division I, Division II, Division III).

In the classroom, the sophomore from Buford, Ga., is currently double majoring in accounting and finance. Through his first two academic years, Salo has a 3.97 GPA.

During the 2024 season, Salo has made 17 appearances for the Bears and has recorded eight points with seven goals and one assist. He also has posted single-season highs with 19 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
