Lenoir-Rhyne’s Powell Named SAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during the second week of the 2024 season. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Victor Powell was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Powell, a senior from Chesapeake Beach, Md., totaled six ground balls and caused four turnovers in No. 1 Lenoir-Rhyne’s 2-0 week. All four of the caused turnovers came against No. 9 UIndy, while the Bears held the Greyhounds to just nine first half shots. The Lenoir-Rhyne defense, one of the top units in the nation, allowed just 11 goals in two games this week.
