Lenoir-Rhyne’s Nesmith Earns NCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

T.J. Nesmith of Lenoir-Rhyne University has been named the Division II men’s basketball Player of the Week by D2CIDA. The senior forward from Burlington, N.C., averaged 30 points and nine rebounds per game in two outings last week.

He began his week with a 29-point, 12-rebound double-double in a 108-105 overtime win against Wingate, then had 31 points with six rebounds in a loss to Tusculum. He hit 24 of 39 field goals in both games combined (.615) and 12 of 13 free throws (.923). He also added 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
Nesmith is currently ranked third in the South Atlantic Conference in scoring. He is also sixth in the league in field goal percentage and fourth in blocks per game.

The Division II men’s basketball Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA).
