Lenoir-Rhyne’s Mardigian Named SAC Softball Player of the Week

The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week for games played during the tenth week of the 2024 season. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Julia Mardigian was named the Player of the Week.

The junior led the Bears this past week, batting 10-for-12 (.833) with five runs scored in a four game span for the Bears. In addition, she had three doubles, a home run, three RBI and had at least one extra base hit in each of the four games last week. She had an .857 on base percentage and a 1.333 slugging percentage.

Mardigian becomes the third player of the week representing the Bears this season. Lora Beth Wood won the award for week two of the season and Madison Wilson took home the top honors during week four. In addition, Lauren Rakes has been named the Pitcher of the Week on two occasions, giving the Bears five weekly honors this season. As a result, Lenoir-Rhyne has represented 25 percent of the weekly awards given by the South Atlantic Conference this season.
