Lenoir-Rhyne’s Gunn Earns All-District Honors

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2020-2021 NABC Coaches’ Division II All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division. Lenoir-Rhyne senior forward R.J. Gunn has been named Second Team All-District. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division II, these 89 student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America.

Gunn averaged 17.6 points per game and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from long range. Gunn earns consecutive spots on the All-District team after earning the distinction in 2019-20 as well. Gunn was also a First Team All-South Atlantic Conference selection.

Including Gunn, six student-athletes from the South Atlantic Conference were named to the All-Southeast District Team, three first team selections and three second team selections. Kenny Dye of Queens, Trenton Gibson of Tusculum, Devin Whitfield of Lincoln Memorial were named to the first team, while Gunn, Quandaveon McCullum of Newberry, and Jamari Smith of Queens were second team selections.
