Lenoir-Rhyne’s Brown Wins Weekly SAC Award
Lenoir-Rhyne’s Alexis Brown was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the second week of the outdoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.
Brown, a freshman sprinter from Mableton, Ga., posted the fastest 100-meter dash time in NCAA Division II and earned an NCAA provisional mark as she won the 100m with a time of 11.41 seconds at the Raleigh Relays. Brown also posted a 23.72 second 200-meter dash mark, placing fifth in the event.
This is Brown’s first SAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor in her LR career, while she is the first Bear to earn the weekly award this season.
