The South Atlantic Conference announced its Varsity Gems Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the tenth week of the 2023 season. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Nate Ashely was named the defensive player of the week.

Ashley, a junior from Bradenton, Fla., caused four turnovers against Tusculum in a dominating 21-4 win, one shy of the single game record for most caused turnovers in a game in Lenoir-Rhyne history. Ashely held the Pioneers to just four goals and 19 total shots.

Ashley becomes the third player to earn player of the week honors this season for the Bears. Toron Eccleston won the offensive player of the week award on March 13th and Victor Powell won the defensive player of the week on March 13th as well.
