Lenoir-Rhyne’s Acton Named SAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the second week of the 2023 season.and Lenoir-Rhyne’s Ria Acton was voted the Defensive Player of the Week.
Acton, a graduate student from Leicester, England, was a huge part of the defense that kept Lees-McRae (3-0) and Tusculum (3-0) off the scoreboard this week with two shutouts. Acton also scored a goal against Lees-McRae and had an assist in both games this week. This is Acton’s third SAC Player of the Week award in her career.
Acton and the rest of the Bears are heading to Melbourne, Florida to face Florida Tech on Wednesday as the Bears (2-0-2) look to remain undefeated this season.
