Lenoir-Rhyne’s Acton Earns South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Honors
The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the fifth week of the 2023 season. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Ria Acton was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Acton, a graduate student from Leicester, England, scored a goal in the upset win over No. 19 North Georgia on Wednesday. She added an assist in that contest and an assist in the 2-0 win at Wingate. Acton also aided the defense in both victories this week. This is Acton’s second Defensive Player of the Week honors this year.
It is the second time she has earned the conference’s defensive player of the week award this season. She won the award in week two of this season as well.
