Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Upended in SAC Tournament

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis team fell in a back-and-forth match against Tusculum 4-3 in the South Atlantic Conference Quarterfinal Thursday morning.

The matches for the SAC tournament took place at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

In doubles, Tusculum was able to win two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point and go up (1-0).

In singles, the Pioneers were able to take the top three singles matches. Winners for Lenoir-Rhyne had Lucy Whelan beating Paulina Loretz 6-2, 6-2. Diana Babinets then defeated Rory Church 6-4, 6-1. Natalie Lutz then defeated Valentina Lorentz in the final match 6-1, 7-5 to make the match (4-3) in favor of Tusculum.

The nine conference wins this season are the most in program history.
