Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Finishes at Program High in NCAA D2 Rankings

Head coach Sam Clarke and the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s tennis program have been ranked No. 15 in the final ITA Rankings of the year. This is the highest end of season ranking in program history.

The Bears had a historic season, finishing with a record of 15-4 and earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. All four of Lenoir-Rhyne’s losses came against NCAA Tournament teams, including two to national runner-up Catawba. For his efforts behind the scenes, coach Clarke was named the SAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

Runa Muderrisoglu was an All-SAC first team singles honoree, while Nellie Wahlberg and Sandra Mahbouli were named to the All-SAC singles second team. The doubles pairing of Runa Muderrisoglu and Mehetia Boosie were named to the All-SAC second team while Nellie Wahlberg and Alexa Allison’s doubles team were named to the All-SAC third team.
