Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Edges Out Limestone in Conference Play

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Team remains perfect at home with a 4-3 victory over Limestone.

At the start of the match, the Bears took two of the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day.

First, at No. 2 doubles, Alicia Wahlberg and Nellie Wahlberg cruised their way to a 6-2 victory to win their fifth-straight match together. Then, at the No. 3 line, Dawson Clifford and Alexa Allison prevailed in a 6-4 outcome, good enough to give LR the 1-0 advantage.

After picking up the doubles victory, Nellie Wahlberg got the Bears off on the right note with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 result at the No. 4 singles line.

Another freshman who garnered a singles victory was Runa Muderrisoglu, who took a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. With the win, the Duzce, Turkey native has now won six-straight singles matches.

While capturing the 3-1 lead, the Saints stormed right back into the mix by winning three-set matches at No. 2 and No. 5 singles.
