Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Blanks Lincoln Memorial

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis shutout Lincoln Memorial 7-0 Wednesday afternoon.

The day started off with doubles play, LMU took the first doubles match 6-2. Gemma Southwick/ Lucy Whelan defeated Dahlstrom/Fitzgerald 6-3. Evelin Menyhart/Sandy Mitsou then secured the doubles point (1-0) for LR beating Quinn/Rodriguez 7-5.

In singles, Southwick made quick work of Vogel defeating her 6-3, 6-1 to put LR up (2-0). Southwick has now won 11 straight singles matches dating back to last year. Diana Babinets then defeated Quin 6-1, 6-3 pushing the score to (3-0). Natalie Lutz then clutched up and secured the match beating Fitzgerald 6-4, 6-4. LR would then win three straight matches to close out the match (7-0)

The Bears improve to 4-2, 2-2 SAC play on the season and will be back in action Friday March 12 against Catawba at home.
