Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Beats Limestone

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis team battled and was victorious in a tough road contest against Limestone 4-3 on Saturday.

In doubles, LR was able to take two of three matches to secure the doubles point. Gemma Southwick/Lucy Whelan defeated Sophia Marchetta/Anastasiia Khriapko 6-4. Natalie Lutz/Diana Babinets then secured the doubles point beating Felicitas Picinini/Maria Radu 6-4.

In singles, Southwick won after Marchetta winhdrew 6-4. 2-0 putting LR up (2-0). Babinets would fall to Caroline St-Antoine 1-6, 3-6 (2-1). Natalie Lutz would then add on for LR winning over Picinini 6-0, 6-1 making the score (3-1). Alicia Wahlberg would then secure the match winning over Alexandra Dolfi 6-1, 6-1 (4-1). The Saints would win the next two matches making the score (4-3).

The Bears improve to 9-3 overall, 7-3 SAC and will be back in action on Wednesday April 7th on the road against Coker.
