Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Swimming Competes Against 6th Ranked Wingate, Catawba

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Swimming team completed in a double-dual hosted by No. 6 Wingate on Saturday afternoon. The Bears took home three golds, two silvers and three bronze in the eleven event meet but took third place against the host Bulldogs and Catawba.

Lisa Boernigen won her 8th event of the year with a win in the 100 Fly. Boernigen than took home a second place finish in the 100 Breast.

Ella Penny had a great afternoon in the pool as the freshman took home a silver and bronze. First Penny finished second in the 200 Free than third in the 100 Free with a time of 54:90.

Sophomore Kayana Taylor took home the other gold for the Bears with a victory in the 500 Free. Taylor has a time of 5:23.39. Elizabeth Bowman had a second place finish in the 1000 Free. Freshman Riche Putnam had a third place in the 50 Free.

The Bears will return to the pool at home when they host Lees-McRae and Catawba on November 5th.
