Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Dominates Anderson
A trio of Bears got their first career goals as Ella Garner, Tea Sabin, and Aly Ramsey all scored and Elin Hansson added a goal for a fourth straight game as the Bears cruised to a 4-0 victory at Anderson. LR has outscored their opponents 10-0 in their first three SAC contest as the Bears look to continue their streak when Mars Hill comes to Hickory on Saturday.
Garner got the first goal for the Bears in the 7th minute as the Bears jumped out 1-0. Sabin and Hansson then scored twice in less than a four minute span to give the Bears a 3-0 lead early in the second half. Ramsey ended the scoring with her first goal in the 70th as LR blanked the Trojans 4-0 on their home turf.
The Bears out shot the Trojans 13-12 but scored on four of their thirteen shots. Kristin Oliver made three saves in goal while S.A. Phillips made two saves in relief of Oliver. LR had nine corner kicks opportunities while Anderson had just one.
The Bears are 5-0-1 against Anderson in the last six games. LR have not lost in Anderson since the 2016 season.
Hansson now has 15th career goals in just 23 career games. In addition, she is second in the SAC in goals with five.
Sabin also picked up her first career assist
The Bears are 4-0-3 overall, 3-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. Mars Hill comes to Hickory for a 5pm kickoff this Saturday from Moretz Sports Athletic Campus.
