Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Advance to SAC Semis

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer team was able to open up the SAC Quarterfinal with a 1-0 win over Carson-Newman Monday afternoon.

Ria Acton scored a curler from 20 yards out in the 19′ to give LR 1-0 lead. Acton earned her sixth goal of the season and is now tied for 1st in goals in the SAC.

Carson-Newman led LR 7-4 in shots in the first half. LR earned more corners than Carson-Newman 5-1.

The Eagles outshot the Bears 14-11 in the match. Grayson Cameron collected seven saves on the match. With those seven saves, Cameron now sits in third in the SAC conference with 40 saves.

LR has now won nine out of the last eleven matches against Carson-Newman.

Lenoir-Rhyne will be back in action Thursday, April 8th on the road for the semifinal of the SAC tournament against Catawba.
