Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse Picked Third in Preseason SAC Poll
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse Team has been predicted to finish third in the Preseason SAC Coaches’ Poll. Wingate was named the preseason favorite and garnered 10 first-place votes while Limestone grabbed the other first-place vote for second place.
The Bears also placed four on the Preseason All-Conference team. Isabelle Dunnam, Jolan Morey and Suzy Smith were named to the First Team while Teanna Sieben was named to the Second Team.
Dunnam, a graduate student from Maitland, Fla. is coming off a season with 41 ground balls and 47 caused turnovers to lead the Bears on the defensive side of the ball.
Morey, a junior attacker from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, scored 29 goals while adding 35 assists last season for the Bears.
Smith, a senior attacker from Chesapeake Beach, Md. lead the Bears with 51 goals last season and adding 15 assists for 66 points.
Sieben, a graduate student from Bienfait, Saskatchewan, Canada, made 197 saves in goal for the Bears last season while playing every second of the season for the Bears inside the net.
The Bears will open the season against Rollins inside Moretz Stadium on February 9th.
