Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Sixth Ranked Queens

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse Team fell to the No.6 Queens Royals 21-5 on the road on Saturday afternoon.

The first five minutes of the match started with LR going up 2-0 with goals by Kaitlyn Lehman and Cathleen Gaffney assisted by Kaitlyn Cavanaugh and Gaffney. The Royals would then score 14 straight to lead at halftime 14-2. With the assist Gaffney is now tied for second in the SAC in assists.

Cavanaugh would start the second half off with a quick goal making it 14-3. LR would score two more in the second half from Cavanaugh and Gaffney, but it wouldn’t be enough.

Queens held a 19-9 lead in draw controls in the contest and outshot the Bears 43-6.

With 13 saves, Teanna Sieben is now in third in the SAC in saves with 51.

The Bears now sit in 6th in the SAC conference standings as Lenoir-Rhyne falls to 2-3 overall, 1-1 in the South Atlantic Conference. The Bears will return to SAC play Wednesday on the road against Newberry.
