Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse Dominates Tusculum

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse Team lead wire-to-wire in a 14-8 win at Tusculum. Chloe Christensen scored a season-high four goals while Kirra Olson and Rylie McGhan added three a piece. LR forced Tusculum into 25 turnovers on the afternoon as Makenna Filley caused three. The Bears will now have a 11 days off before their regular season finale at Catawba.

Olson scored the first two goals of the game as LR did not allow the Pioneers to score in the first quarter. After the Pioneers cut the lead to 4-2, Christensen and Jolan Morey scored from the Free Position to take a 6-2 lead. Bears had a four goal stretch in the third quarter highlighted by Christensen’s second goal to take a 10-4 lead. McGhan and Christensen each scored twice in the 4th quarter as LR had a 14-6 lead before the Pioneers scored the last two. Sally Friesen made six saves in goal for the Bears. Olson and Filley lead the Bears with 4 groundballs. Christensen and Olson had five draw controls.

Bears are 10-0 all-time against the Pioneers. LR is in 7th place in the SAC, one game out of 6th place. The top six teams make the SAC Tournament. Christensen crossed the 50 draw control mark today.

Lenoir-Rhyne is 4-10 overall, 3-6 in the South Atlantic Conference. The Bears will have a week off before a trip to Catawba on April 17th.
