Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Golf Competing at LeeAnn Noble Memorial

Fresh off their first team championship of the season, Lenoir-Rhyne women’s golf struggled on the first day of play at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial at Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega, Ga. The Bears are in 14th out of 16 teams after shooting 616 (+40) in the first two rounds, but are just eight shots out of 9th place in a logjam of teams in the standings. Amelia Rae Greenlee and Beatriz Espelosin are both in the top-26 in the individual standings.

Greenlee shot 74-74 for a two-round score of 148 (+4), and Espelosin – who is coming off an individual championship last week – shot 77-74 for a 151 (+7). Following up those two was Marta Escudero with a 158 (+14), Marta Cervero with a 159 (+15), and Patricia Asensio with a 167 (+23). Both Cervero and Escudero did make an Eagle on the day.

The Bears will look to climb the leaderboard in the final round tomorrow starting at 9 a.m.
