Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball to Be Number Four Seed in Southeast Region Playoffs

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Team earned an automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division II Tournament with a win over Anderson in the SAC Tournament Championship Sunday. The Bears were announced as the No. 4 seed in the region and will take on No. 5 seed Clayton St. in the first round.

The Bears are in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in program history but the Bears will be looking for just their second all-time NCAA Tournament win. The only LR win in the Big Dance came in 2009 when the Bears took down the No. 8 seed Anderson Trojans 69-58.

This will be the third time ever the Bears earn the No. 4 seed. The Bears most recent trip to the Tournament came in 2014 when they were the No. 1 seed but fell in the opening round to Armstrong St.
