Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Earns Four Seed in This Weekend’s NCAA Division 2 Southeast Regional

For the seventh time in program history and second straight season, the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s basketball team finds itself in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears were announced as the number four seed and will take on No. 5 seed Georgia Southwestern in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Tournament. This is the fourth time LR has earned the No. 4 seed.

The Bears are in the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in program history but the Bears will be looking for just their second all-time NCAA Tournament win. The only LR win in the Big Dance came in 2009 when the Bears took down the No. 8 seed Anderson Trojans 69-58. A season ago, LR was the four-seed and fell to Clayton St. 65-48.

The regional will take place at Catawba who earned the No. 1 seed for the second straight season. The South Atlantic Conference has five teams in the eight-team regional.

Bears and Georgia Southwestern will be the fourth and final game in the first round from Salisbury with a tip-off scheduled for 7:30 PM on Friday night.
