Lenoir-Rhyne Track and Field Hosts Event

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s and Women’s Track team competed in the LR Bears Open Sunday afternoon.

On the women’s side, Bekki Roche and Olivia Jackson went back-to-back in hammer throw going 1st and 2nd with throws of 49.07m and 41.78m. Kimberley Owens then placed 2nd in long jump with a leap of 4.95m. Savannah Nippa would go on to finish 5th in discus throw with a throw of 33.79m. Kennedy Conner would continue the momentum and place 2nd in high jump with a 11.59m. Taylor Gardin placed 5th in shot put with a 11.19m. Lacey Triplett and Pearl Ballard would go 4th and 5th in pole vault with jumps of 3.05m and 2.90m. Triplett would also show out in the javelin throw and place 2nd with a 36.15m. Kylie Dahlberg and Elizabeth Kessler went back-to-back 1st and 2nd in the 3000m steeplechase with a 11:09.25 and 11:34.99. Jordan Shealey then finished 3rd in 100m dash with a 12.25m. Taylor Meadows then finished 4th in the 800m with a 2:22.02.

On the men’s side, Dawson Sigmon led the way for LR finishing 1st in the hammer throw with a hurl of 45.53m. Ellis Horton would finish 3rd in discus throw with a throw of 45.63m. Daniel Nicholson and Chris Reichenbach would go 2nd and 3rd in pole vault with jumps of 4.35m. Ezra Grate finished 4th in javelin throw with a 46.21m. Royce Turner Jr. would continue the momentum placing 4th in the 100m dash with a time of 11.05. Leo Martinez then placed 5th in the 800m run with a time of 1:59.91. Justice Robinson and Devine Drummond would then go back-to-back in 1st and 2nd in the 400m hurdles with a 55.78 and 56.11.
