The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s and Women’s Track and Field competed at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point Friday.
On the women’s side, Kimberley Owens placed 18th in the 100m dash with a time of 12.78. Saidah Hardwick then placed 22nd 200m dash with a 26.37. Harwick wasn’t finished and placed 12th in the 400m race with a time 59.62. Kylie Dahlberg would continue the momentum finishing 10th in the 800m race with a time of 2:19.09. Adie Bjerkness just finished behind Dahlberg in the 800m race in 16th with a time of 2:22.54. Dahlberg wasn’t through put a strong time up in the 1500m race finishing 4th with a time of 4:44.25. Janet Kwambai placing just behind Dahlberg finished 9th with a 4:46.18. Hardwick also placed 1st in the high jump with a leap of 1.50m. Pearl Ballard then got hot and placed 8th in pole vault with a jump of 2.80m. Owens would show up again have a strong showing in the long jump placing 5th with 5.16m. Bekki Roche would then break an outdoor school record in the hammer throw placing 8th with a hurl of 49.85m. Savannah Nippa added to the mix placing 16th in javelin with a 26.02m.
On the men’s side, Marlin Davis finished 2nd in the 100m dash with a time of 10.81. Royce Turne Jr. paced right behind Davis in 6th with a time of 10.97. Davis was’t through as he also placed 2nd in the 200m dash with a time of 21.54. Marcus Crumpler would continue the momentum taking 12th in the 400m hurdles with a 58.72. Chris Reichenbach would take home the crown in pole vault with a jump of 4.36m and followed right behind was Daniel Nicholson in 3rd with a jump of 4.21m. Trent Davis and Marvin Marsh would go back-to-back in the long jump in 16th an 17th with final leaps of 6.42m and 6.28m. Dalton Hatley would then place 15th in shotput with a final mark of 13.15. Austin Gross would round out competition for LR in the hammer throw placing 16th with a hurl of 38.72m.
The Bears will be back in action on April 9th for the Flames Invitaitonal.
