Lenoir-Rhyne Track and Field Competes at Hub City Invitational

The Lenoir-Rhyne Track and Field teams competed at the Hub City Invitational hosted by Newberry College Friday.

On the women’s side, Tonia Osaji led the way finishing 5th in the 100m dash with a time of 12.62. Osaji also had a strong time in te 200m dash with a 26.36. Teresa Vesley continued the momentum in the 800m race finishing 15th with a time of 2:44.54. Pierson McManus also added a 9th place finish in the 1500m race with a 5:20.92. Maigan Bowman then placed 3rd in the high jump with a 1.57m leap. Bekki Roche then placed 1st in shot put with a throw of 12.91m. Roche also placed 1st in the hammer throw with a hurl of 48.57m. Savannah Nippa then placed 4th in discus throw with a final mark of 34.75.

On the men’s side, Kaynmon Maddox placed 2nd in the 100m dash with a 10.95, Maddox wasn’t through finishing 8th with a 22.48. Leo Martinez added by finishing 6th in the 800m race 1:58.95. Jacob Marsh then placed 18th in the 1500m race with a 4:47.33. Devine Drummond then finished 6th and 5th in the 110m and 400m hurdles with times of 15.71 and 58.09. Harrison Hickman and Eli Riggs went back-to-back in 5th and 6th in the 3000m steeplechase with times of 10:53.60 and 11:15.03. Kaleb Davis then finished 4th in pole vault with a 3.80m. Dalton Hatley then started things off for throws portions with a 4th finish in shot put with a 13.72. Ellis Horton then finished 1st in discus throw with a 44.87.

The Bears will be in action on Saturday April 17 at South Carolina.
