Lenoir-Rhyne Swimming Competes at Queens Dual Meet

For the second time in a month the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s and Women’s Swimming traveled to the Levine Aquatic Center in Charlotte for a meet. This time the Bears fell to Queens University in a dual meet on Friday afternoon.

On the men’s side, the Bears won three of the eleven events. Alex Ballard got the Bears on the board with his 500 yard freestyle win. Alex Murphy and John Caroll finished second and third behind Ballard. Micah McRea kept the Bears going with his 100 Breaststroke win. Jacob Queen finished second behind McRea. The two flipped positions from the Winter Round Robin from last month, where Queen finished first and McRea finished second. The Bears finished strong, taking home the 200 freestyle relay to end the afternoon. The relay team consisted of Spencer Ashby, Nathan McCormick, Connor Greene, and Matthew Dewey had a time of 1:29.04.

On the women’s side, the Bears also took home the last three events of the afternoon. Kimberly Scheiber and Kelsey Krumanocker got the Bears on the board with a 1st and 2nd place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. Scheiber had a time of 5:33.51 while Krumanocker had a time of 5:38.10. Anna Harshaw took home the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:13.56 time and then the Bears finished the meet with their own 200 yard freestyle win. The relay team of Sarah Helfert, Lauren Muehl joined Krumanocker, and Harshaw to finish with a 1:52.00 time.

The men will return home for a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon against Wingate and Catawba while the women will travel to Wingate for the tri-meet on Friday.
