Lenoir-Rhyne Powerlifting Finish Second at Powerlifting America University Nationals

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Powerlifting Team recorded a second-place finish at the 2024 Powerlifting America University Nationals.

Cameron Lunsford, a senior from Spartanburg, S.C., took the top spot in the 105kg weight class and was listed as the best overall performer at the competition.

In addition to Lunsford’s victory, the Bears had five participants place in top five over the weekend at the Reno’s American Iron Gym.

In the 105kg weight class, Ryan Carter, the graduate student out of Ringgold, Ga., secured a fourth-place finish for the Bears.

For the 120kg weight class, Avery Dayvault, a senior from Taylorsville, N.C., earned a fifth-place result.

In the 120+ kg weight class, LR had two participants finish in the top five in the event. Elijah Roberts, a freshman from Pickens, S.C., earned a fourth-place result. Meanwhile, Rossi Wachacha, a native of Robbinsville, N.C., recorded a fifth-place finish.

For the women’s powerlifting competition, Angelina Midas, a junior from Catawba, N.C., recorded a fourth-place finish in the 63kg weight class.
