Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Tennis Season Comes to a Close
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Tennis Team was eliminated from the SAC Men’s Tennis Tournament with a 4-0 loss to No. 26 Tusculum in the quarterfinal round.
The Pioneers delivered an early blow to the Bears with two dominating wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Tusculum’s Marco Jalalian and Nemanja Subanovic breezed to a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 line while Kenta Kondou and Nathan Matsuguma cruised to a 6-0 result.
In singles, the Pioneers secured a spot in the semifinal round with three straight-set victories over the Bears. At the No. 2 spot, Vadym Rogynskyi was handed a 6-2, 6-2 defeat while Patrik Alvestrand was on the wrong side of the 6-1, 6-0 final.
Tusculum sealed the match when Francesco Bonacia dealt Rufus Plane a 6-2, 6-2 score at No. 4 singles.
