The Lenoir-Rhyne men’s tennis team lost 6-3 to Methodist University on the road at Fayetteville’s Clayton Tennis Center Sunday.
The Bears nearly picked up the doubles point as the number one doubles of Nicolas Moser and Joel Hemmings of the Bears won their match 8-4. However, the Bears dropped the number two doubles contest 8-2 and in number three doubles, the Bears succumbed 8-3.
Lenoir-Rhyne picked up wins at number two and three singles positions. Patrick Alvestand won 6-3, 6-4 in his number two singles matchup against Methodist’s Hayden Holloway. At number three singles, Joel Hemmings picked up a straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 win.
The loss drops the Bears to 8-5 overall on the season. L-R returns to action Saturday when they resume South Atlantic Conference action at Limestone.
