The South Atlantic Conference announced its Varsity Gems Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played in the eleventh week of the 2023 season. Lenoir-Rhyne swept the awards as Toron Eccleston was named the Offensive Player of the Week, Nate Ashely was named the Defensive Player of the Week, and Rob Pensabene was named the Specialist Player of the Week.

Eccleston, a senior from Calgary, Alberta, Canada scored the second-most goals in a single game in program history with seven against Anderson on Wednesday and came back with four goals against Limestone on Saturday. He had 11 goals and an assist to go with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Ashley, a junior from Bradenton, Fla., had six caused turnovers in two games including four against Anderson on Wednesday night. He added five ground balls to lead the Bears to wins over two nationally ranked opponents.

Pensabene, a junior from Mount Laurel, N.J., earned a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents and broke a program record with 22 saves against Limestone on Saturday night. He made two crucial saves at the end of regulation and in the start of overtime to allow Lenoir-Rhyne the chance to score the game-winning goal. Pensabene made 38 saves in the two games and saved over 60 percent.
