Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Receive Four Seed in Tournament, Hosts Indianapolis in First Round

For the fourth time in the past four tournaments, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Team will be in the field of 12. The Bears were announced as the 4-seed and will host Indianapolis in the first round at Moretz Stadium.

This is will be the first time in program history that LR isn’t a 1 or 2 seed heading into the tournament as they were in their first three trips to the dance. LR owns a 3-3 all-time mark in the NCAA Tournament, including last season’s run to the National Championship game.

The Bears and Greyhounds met in the season opener back on Feb. 6 with UIndy coming away with a narrow 12-11 victory. Each team boasts a 14-3 record overall but the Bears enter with a 10-game winning streak, including three wins over top 10 teams in the nation. The Greyhounds have dropped two straight, one to No. 12 Lindenwood in the GLVC Tournament Championship and then a six-goal loss at No. 5 Limestone on Friday.

In total, three teams from the South Atlantic Conference earned bids with Limestone grabbing the 2-seed and Wingate earning the six.

Game time and ticket information for the game will be announced in the coming days.
