Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Place Seven on All-American List

With the 2024 Division II National Championship quickly approaching, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Team had seven of its student-athletes earn All-American status from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Victor Powell, the senior from Chesapeake Beach, Md., was named the William C. Schmeisser Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being selected First Team All-Defense. The SAC Defensive Player of the Year currently leads LR with 30 caused turnovers and ranks No. 4 on the team with 37 ground balls.

Colten McCracken, the senior from Middletown, Md., was named Short-Stick Defensive Midfielder of the Year in addition to being selected First Team SSDM. The SAC and All-Region First Team Short-Stick Defensive Midfielder ranks No. 5 on the team with 28 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.

Rob Pensabene, the senior from Mount Laurel, N.J., was named as the Second Team Goalkeeper. In his second season in Hickory, the SAC Specialist of the Year and First Team All-Region selection has a 14-1 record in between the pipes. Pensabene also ranks No. 3 in Division II with a 7.80 goals-against average and ranks No. 5 with a .591 save percentage.

Moving on to the honorable mention selections, Evan Voss, the junior from Powder Springs, Ga., was selected as an attackman. The 2023 NCAA Most Outstanding Player leads the Bears with 23 assists and ranks No. 3 on the Bears with 21 goals.

For the midfield, Ryan Duncan, the graduate student from Leesburg, Va., leads the Bears with 48 points and 27 goals.

On defense, Joey Masson, the senior from Ijamsville, Md., ranks No. 4 on the team with 12 caused turnovers and ranks No. 7 with 23 ground balls.

On the face-off, Matthew Mancini, the sophomore from Middletown, Md., picked up an All-American nod. The 2024 SAC Tournament MVP ranks No. 15 in Division II with a .609 face-off winning percentage and ranks No. 26 with 6.61 ground balls per game.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Team will return to action for the 2024 National Championship against No. 1 seeded Adelphi on Sunday, May 26 at 4 p.m. The game is scheduled to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
