Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Earn Fifth Seed in NCAA Tournament South Region
For the fifth time in the last six NCAA Division II Tournaments, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Team has earned a bid to the field. The Bears earned the No. 5 seed and will take on No. 4 seed and defending National Champion Tampa on Wednesday in Tampa, Fla. at 4pm. This will be the first NCAA Tournament that LR doesn’t host a game.
Lenoir-Rhyne is 4-4 all-time in NCAA Tournament games and have gone to a Quarterfinal, Semifinal and National Championship game in their last three appearances. This will be the second meeting between LR and Tampa this season and the two programs have meet in each of the past three NCAA Tournaments. LR won in 2021 and Tampa took a victory in 2022. The Spartans won the regular season matchup between the two programs back on Feb. 19 by a final score of 13-9.
The No.3 seed vs. No.6 seed and No. 4 seed vs. No. 5 seed games will take place on Wednesday with the winners taking on the top two seeds on Sunday. Rollins and Limestone earned the right to have a bye and host the National Quarterfinal games on Sunday.
