Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Defeats 12th Ranked Queens

For the third time this season, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Lacrosse Team topped a top 15 team as the No. 5 Bears handed No. 12 Queens a 15-7 defeat on Saturday afternoon. The Bears scored five times in the second quarter and six in the fourth to move to 6-0 on the season.

Eric Dickinson started off the scoring with a goal 2:30 into the contest but the Royals answered with a 3-0 run. Lenoir-Rhyne answered with seven straight goals with Myles Moffat scoring twice in the spurt. Queens cut the lead to 11-7 with 8:03 to play but LR had another answer with four straight goals to close out the win.

Dickinson had four goals and four assists for an eight point afternoon. Dickinson is now just two helpers shy of becoming the program’s leader in that category

Moffat had three goals and three assists and Toron Eccleston and Will Canata each added two goals and one assist. John Paulus went 7-of-10 in faceoffs and Zach Bodeau was 8-for-14. Bodeau led the Bears with six ground balls. Victor Powell was a monster defensively causing five turnovers and grabbing three ground balls.

LR held a 50-35 advantage in shots and 36-14 edge in shots on goal. The Bears also grabbed 35 ground balls, compared to 20 for the Royals. Lenoir-Rhyne continues it’s best start in program history. No team ever had started 5-0 and this improves LR to 6-0, 4-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. Lenoir-Rhyne is the lone unbeaten team remaining in the SAC

LR improves to 52-12 all-time as a ranked team. Dating back to last season, Lenoir-Rhyne has won 10 straight games

The Bears are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Newberry.
