Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Golf in Seventh After First Day at Irish Creek Invitational

Coming off a team championship in their last event, Lenoir-Rhyne men’s golf is in 7th place in the 15-team field at the Irish Creek Invitational in Kannapolis after 36 holes. The Bears shot 582 in the first two rounds, three shots behind Erskine for 6th place, and just six shots out of fourth place, where USC Aiken and Belmont Abbey are tied for first.

Sean Finan is tied for 7th in the individual competition after firing a one-under 141 through the first two rounds, and Jack Alward shot one-over 143 to tie for 18th to pace the Bears individually.

Liam Waldron is tied for 49th after shooting 149 (+7), Sam Mace is tied for 58th after shooting 151 (+9), and Jake Moore shot 161 (+19) to round out the Bear effort.

Finan played the Par 4s at one-under par today, which was tied for the second best score in the field. He also made 27 pars on the day, tied for the most in the field.

The final round is on Tuesday.
