The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Golf Team finished in 13th place at the Lander Bearcat Golf Classic hosted by the Greenwood Country Club; the Bears shot a combined 877 (+13) team score over the two days.

Jack Alward finished with the best individual score out of the LR golfers with a 216 (E) performance over his three rounds. He had his best two rounds on Monday before finishing with a 74 (+2) score in the final round on Tuesday.

Although the start of his tournament was not as successful as he would have liked, Tyler Hashmi saved his best round for last with his 70 (-2) score. The senior ended with a total score of 224 (+8) through his 54 holes.

Also shooting a 70 (-2) in the final round of the event, Sean Finan ended his tournament with 222 (+6) thanks to his best round over the two days. Sam Mace also had a 222 (+6) event score as he ended his week with a 76 (+4) round.

Holt Allison had a very consistent week for the Bears, shooting slightly above par in each round of the tournament. His 74 (+2) performance in the final round helped him finish with the second-best individual score on the team with a 221 (+5).

After having a successful second round with his 73 (+1) score, Liam Waldron had a couple of 77 (+5) scores to sandwich his middle round result. The senior ended up with a 227 (+11) total score.

Anderson was able to squeeze out as the tournament champions, shooting four strokes better than the hosts, Lander, and finishing with a combined team score of 849 (-15).

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Golf Team will take next week off before returning to the course on Monday, March 20 for the Ralph Hargett Memorial in Monroe, N.C.
