Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Basketball Picked to Finish Sixth in Conference

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Basketball Team was predicted to finish sixth in the Preseason South Atlantic Conference Coaches’ Poll as announced by the league. In addition, T.J. Nesmith was named First Team Preseason All-SAC.

The Bears are coming off a 57-47 win at Louisville in exhibition play on Sunday and officially open the 2022-23 season at Lees-McRae on Nov. 16. The Bears are coming off a 10-18 season but have most of the roster in tact from that young squad and have added veteran L.J. McCoy, a graduate transfer from Belmont Abbey College. McCoy had 16 points in the win over the Cardinals.

Nesmith finished the 2021-22 campaign with a team-high 14.3 point-per-game average and 3.9 rebounds. Nesmith was named to the All-Conference squad and shot 61.5 percent from the field on the season.
