Lenoir-Rhyne Hires Robison as New Assistant AD for Marketing and Fan Engagement

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletic Department announce the hiring of Nick Robison as the new Assistant AD for Marketing and Fan Engagement. Robison comes to Hickory from Auburn University at Montgomery, where he held the role of Fan Experience/Special Events coordinator.

“I am beyond thrilled to be a part of Lenoir-Rhyne University and the Unifour area,” said Robison. “The Bears are a dominant force in the NCAA and I’m looking forward to working with the student-athletes, the fans, and the community. Thank you to Kim Pate, Aaron Bessey, and the rest of the LR staff for this amazing opportunity.”

A 2017 graduate of Appalachian State University, Robison is familiar with the SAC after also obtaining his Master’s in Sports Management from Wingate University. While at App State, Robison worked as Promotions and Fan Engagement Intern, where he coordinated promotions, wrote scripts, and worked with sponsors in three different sports. After graduation, he was the Sports Marketing & Promotions Graduate Assistant at Wingate from 2018 to 2020 where he established and developed the Wingate student section, the “WU crew.”

He started at Auburn-Montgomery in November of 2020, and in that role, he created and implemented marketing plans for all 11 varsity sports for the Warhawks, who play in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference. He created in-depth, small-market marketing strategies that saw outdoor fan attendance rise during a COVID-affected year. Additionally, he managed a student worker staff of over 10, managed the AUM SuperFan app that had over 1,500 users, and conducted gameday operations and promotions, external contracts and campus relations for all AUM Athletics Programs.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Nick join our Bears family,” said Senior Associate AD Aaron Bessey. “His work ethic, creativity and positive energy will instantly elevate the LR athletics brand and gameday experience for all of Bear Nation.”
