Lenoir-Rhyne Football Moves Up One Spot in Regional Rankings
The final round of NCAA Regional Rankings were released Monday, November 6, the last before the NCAA Playoff field is announced on Sunday. The Bears come in at number four in the regional rankings, one spot above where they were last week.
The format for the NCAA Playoffs features four regions with the Bears in Super Region 2. The region has seven teams that make the playoff field with the number 1 seed earning a bye and seeds 2, 3 and 4 earning a home game in the first round. From the first round on, the better seed hosts the game. The number four seed is important for LR as it means the difference between playing at home and playing on the road.
The Bears moved up with a win over Catawba to clinch the Piedmont Division. LR can seal a playoff bid with a win over Tusculum in Saturday’s SAC Championship.
The NCAA field will be unveiled Sunday at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com.
