Lenoir-Rhyne Duo Competes at IPF World University Cup
Cameron (Tank) Lunsford and Ryan Carter competed at the IPF World University Cup in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia on Friday. This competition is the biggest stage for collegiate power lifting.
Both athletes excelled. Lifting in the 93kg class, Tank went 8-for-9 attempts. Winning a bronze medal in squat (282.5 kg or 623lb), a silver medal in the bench press (180kg or 396lb), and setting a personal record in the dead lift (265kg or 584lb). Tank placed 5th in the total.
Carter lifted in the 105 kg class and placed 8th overall, going 7-for-9 in his attempts . He set all new personal records in squat (250kg or 551lb), bench press (165kg or 363 lb) and deadlift (292.5kg or 645lbs).
Both athletes lifted their best performances in the biggest competition of their careers. They represented LR magnificently. With only two athletes, LR placed 16th out of the 59 colleges competing in the championships.
