Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Achieves Highest National Rank in Program History

For the first time in program history, the Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team has broken into the Top 10 of the NCBWA Division II Top 25 Poll with its No. 7 ranking; surpassing its previous high of the No. 11 spot.

After starting the season with a 2-2 record, the Bears have won 20 of their last 23 games and now sit with a 22-5 overall record, the 11th best winning percentage in Division II.

The Bears are currently on their longest winning streak this season with nine consecutive wins including a 6-0 start to conference play.

In addition to the success in the win-loss column, the LR offense has looked the strongest all season with scoring at least 10+ runs in eight straight games. Based off those recent performances, the Bears lead the SAC in hits (298), runs (244), doubles (57), triples (10), home runs (40), RBIs (212), and walks (139).

After sweeping St. Michael’s (VT) to start the week, the Bears are set host their first home conference series of the season this Friday against Wingate. First pitch for Friday’s standalone game will be at 5 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
