Lenoir Man Killed In Watauga County Crash

A Caldwell County man was killed in a crash Friday morning (November 6) in Watauga County.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. Friday, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Blackberry Road in Watauga County near the Caldwell County line. A 2004 Mack concrete truck, owned by Hamby Brothers Concrete Inc. of Lenoir, was traveling south on Blackberry Road, ran off the road to the right, overcorrected, and overturned in the roadway.

The driver, 48-year-old Michael Allen Stout of Lenoir, passed away at the scene as a result of his injuries. The roadway was closed for several hours as crews worked to upright the truck.
