Lenoir Man Jailed on Charges from Two Counties

25-year-old Shane Tyrell Stenson, who lists addresses on Dogwood Street in Lenoir and on Kirkview Lane in Charlotte, was arrested by Hickory Police Monday morning (April 3) on a number of outstanding warrants. In Catawba County, Stenson was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and on two counts of failure to appear on a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon. In Caldwell County, he was charged with interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Stenson was also charged with a felony parole violation. He was on parole following a November 2019 conviction in Catawba County on multiple counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, breaking & entering a motor vehicle, larceny over $1,000, larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking & entering, misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor wanton injury to personal property.

Stenson was taken into custody at about 9:30 a.m. Monday at a hotel on 13th Avenue Drive S.E. in Hickory. He was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he is being held under a $95,002 secured bond. A District Court appearance on the Caldwell County charge was scheduled yesterday (April 5) in Lenoir with a Superior Court date on the Catawba County charges coming up on April 17 in Newton.
